Chiropractic was founded by D.D. Palmer, right here in Iowa!  D.D. performed the first chiropractic adjustment in Davenport on Harvey Lillard in 1895.  Harvey explained to D.D. that he had fallen deaf nearly 17 years ago when he stooped over and heard a "pop" in his spine.  D.D. felt Harvey's neck and found a vertebrae out of line with the others.  He adjusted the vertebrae and Harvey related that he had nearly immediate resolution of his hearing loss! 

Since that time, the art of chiropractic has been studied, researched, and widely accepted into "main stream" health care.

Dr. Calvert-Downey uses safe and gentle adjusting techniques that are effective for all ages.  Some patients prefer to not be manually adjusted (using the hands) or are unable to withstand the force.  For these patients, Dr. Calvert-Downey happily utilizes Activator or ChiroIQ methods to aid these patients.

While we are in network with many insurance companies, for those that are unable or prefer to not utilize private health insurance we offer reasonable cash rates as follows:


                               Initial examination and chiropractic treatment:  $80
                               Continued Care Chiropractic:  $40
                               Spinal Decompression Therapy (SDT):  $50 (most insurance plans do not cover SDT)
                               Chiropractic Care + SDT or Acupuncture:  $50
